All children are welcome and valued at Abacus.
They will be offered a wide range of educational activities planned around their individual needs, so they may progress at their own pace.
Mission Statement
With a single storey, purpose-built log cabin; well trained staff, large secure garden and outdoor play areas; as well as fresh, homemade food; we provide an environment that is safe, exciting and nurturing.
We want to ensure that your little ones receive the best possible start in life, and aim to provide, a ‘home from home’ environment, where children’s needs come first through out the day.
- Open 8.00 - 6.00 Monday to Friday, 50 weeks per year. We are closed for 2 weeks at Christmas.
- Registered for 8 babies (0-2 years) & 23 children aged 2-5 years.
- Situated in a purpose built log cabin.
- Our meals & snacks freshly prepared daily, using quality local produce. Special diets catered for upon request.
- We have large, secure outdoor play facilities – a playground, soft play area, grassed area & a pirate themed adventure playground and mini beast area.
- A friendly, approachable, well qualified team of staff.
- We offer a wide range of educational activities, planned around individual needs, whilst following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum

- We go on organised trips out eg the Nell Bank Centre, library, Christchurch & we regularly invite visitors/speakers into Nursery eg dentists, policemen, health visitors.
- We have been awarded a “Silver Quality Inclusion Award” by Bradford Early Years Childcare and Play, recognising our commitment to providing quality care and education for all children
- Member of National Day Nurseries Association.
